On Sunday I got picked up by the brothers Bish and with john and their dad drove up to Hillingdon for the 3rd 'Wasteland Classic' Slalom Comp. We stopped on the way for a cheeky skate at Twellsy's garden mini then headed over to the racetrack. It was a little blustery and after the warm-up it turned out the expensive timing equipment didn't work. Head-to-head it was then!
I seemed to do OK at the start so went through to the winners half, reaced a couple of people and kept winning. Then i was up against Paul Price... almost pipped him in the first round; lost by a couple of inches. the second round it turned into about a foot or so! Next was Sam Gordon. I beat him then he beat me twice.
Throughout the afternoon a seperate competition was being run, due to the generosity of Octane Sport. The innaugeral 'Long-distance lap' race. The eventual winner was Louis, who walked away with an Axe2 slalom deck. All in all £45 was raised for SkateNewZealand. Cheers to all those who took part.
